Blunsdon House Leisure Club
Blunsdon House Leisure Club is running a self defense class which incorporates Martial Arts fitness training as well. The class is for both men and women members and we hope to shortly have a class for non-members.
We have also been running children’s karate classes on Saturday mornings at Blunsdon House which have been a great success, due to this we are scheduling extra Saturday morning classes as well as taking names for weekday after school classes.
If you are interested in any of our classes or would like more information please call Mai Ki Do 07792094588 or Blunsdon Leisure Club 01793 720640.
We also hold a current CRB Enhanced check via Blunsdon House Hotel

Since I was a young boy I have been fascinated with the Martial Arts. I, like many others, was bullied throughout school, which fuelled my fascination even more. I started training within the Martial Arts some time ago and my ambition was to learn to defend myself, but as I soon learned, Martial Arts had much more to offer.
After a lot of hard training I realized that the martial arts weren’t just about self protection they were about learning how to push yourself beyond your own limitations and push the boundaries of your dreams.
I encourage people of all ages to come along and train but in some cases I’m met with "I'm too old for that sort of thing", the Martial Arts has many different types of training, you don’t need be able to do flying kicks and you don’t have to jump around the room performing karate chops. We want to help people to get out and get active. All of our classes are run as small group classes so that we can focus on the students individual needs and help the students progress at their own pace. Regardless of age we have something to offer all of our students. Parents of children who attend our kids’ classes have commented on their child's concentration, fitness and confidence improving which has had positive effects on other aspects of their lives. Ladies gain more confidence and awareness from the self defence course. All ages and abilities are welcome and would benefit anyone who takes part.
My drive and ambition is to create a school that sets the bench mark for high quality, which is why I run Mai Ki Do as a non-profit business. I have no interest in creating a big school or generating vast amounts of profit, I want students to reap the same benefits and rewards I have enjoyed from Martial Arts training.
